Neighborhood gardens provide beautiful space for residents to grow their own food. These green spaces are peaceful, economically beneficial to people and communities, and provide joy when you see your garden growing!

We have two locations: Franklin St. and Cornell Ave. & Whitney St

Gardens have a composting area, water barrels, and a perimeter fence.

Plots are for rent! Both locations offer 4’ x 12’ raised beds with a limit of 2 per gardener.  Gardeners can expect to start planting on these sites by May 1st, 2021, weather permitting.

  • April 1st, 2021: Returning gardener registration ends.

  • April 2nd, 2021: Open registration, for new and returning gardeners, begins.

If you are interested in renting a plot in 2021: Fill out the 2021 SPANG Registration form online by clicking here!

Or you can fill out the 2021 SPANG Registration form by printing it out and mailing it to us.  You will need to use the 2021 SPANG Program Rules and the 2021 SPANG Release of All Claims documents to complete the registration form.

Safety updates and improvements are still needed at our Cornell/Whitney site.  The site received a makeover in 2018, thanks to the hardworking students at Stevens Point Area Senior High.  They replaced the old, broken bed frames and landscaped that pathways.  Wow!

Current needs:

  • New sign (old one is rotting and ready to fall down)

  • New gate to improve site accessibility

  • New tools to replace the old broken, rusty ones
