About the event

Join us at the Leder’s farm to see their custom dairy heifer grazing operation. Bob Leder is a retired large animal veterinarian. Leders have been practicing rotational grazing on their sheep operation since the mid-1980’s. This year they started custom grazing dairy heifers for Wepner Farms, a nearby dairy farm. We’ll learn about their grazing set up and what things to consider when grazing heifers. The cattle are outfitted with two types of virtual fence collars, NoFence and Gallagher. We’ll take a look and talk about how the collars are used to rotationally manage the cattle. Lastly, we'll also discuss PaddockTrac - an online pasture management tool!

Refreshments provided. RSVP encouraged, but not required.
