Speakers include:
Asa Plonsky - Central Wisconsin Invasives Partnership (CWIP) Coordinator
Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs) are geographically defined areas where landowners, natural resource managers, and other partners cooperate in the fight against invasive species. Asa will discuss where these CISMAs are located in Wisconsin and how landowners can get involved in projects to map and control invasive species in their communities.
Invasive Plants Association of Wisconsin (IPAW) Representative (not confirmed who)
Managing for invasive plants is difficult for individual landowners to do on their own. If you manage for an invasive plant on your land and your neighbor doesn't do the same, seeds can travel to and reinfest your property. A representative from IPAW will share information about what landowners can do to involve neighbors in invasive species management.
Kent Glazer - WI Department of Natural Resources Forester (not confirmed)
The Wisconsin Forest Landowner Grant Program (WFLGP) provides cost-share funding to landowners to remove invasive plants from their property. Kent will share information about how landowners can apply for this program and will share examples of how neighboring landowners have worked together to control certain species.Â
Andy Hart - Natural Resources Conservation Service WI State Forester (not confirmed)
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) has two programs focused on invasive plants. Andy will share information about the EQIP program, how landowners can apply, and what the process looks like for landowners who use the program to fund their invasive species removal projects.Â
