Northeast Wisconsin Invasives Partnership (NEWIP)
A Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) is a partnership between organizations, governments, and individuals to manage invasive species. CISMAs complete collaborative projects that can include education programs and invasive species mapping, control, and eradication.
Golden Sands is bringing partners together to form a new CISMA to service Waupaca, Outagamie, Winnebago, and Brown counties! The group is called the Northeast Wisconsin Invasives Partnership (NEWIP), and was formerly called the Northeast Wisconsin Invasive Species Coalition (NEWISC).
Fox Valley Cooperative Invasive Species Group Visioning Meeting
Golden Sands worked with representatives from UW-Oshkosh, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Wisconsin First Detector Network to hold a visioning meeting for the new group on December 12th, 2019 in New London. Thank you to all who were able to attend in-person or online! We will incorporate your feedback as we continue to develop the group and apply for grants!
The meeting and the development of NEWIP have been made possible by grants from the Environmental Stewardship Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. and the Waupaca Area Community Foundation Fund within the Waupaca Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc.
