Evening on the Farm - Sunset Pasture Walk
Golden Sands RC&D, GrassWorks, and Wisconsin Farmers Union are co-hosting an evening of discussion, a pasture tour, and a light farm fresh dinner at Bouressa Family Farm in Waupaca County, WI. Everyone is welcome!
The shortage of clean water is rapidly becoming an urgent issue for Wisconsin farmers, residents and recreationists. Join us for an evening on the farm to discuss how we can work together as farmers, local elected officials, and consumers to restore Wisconsin’s long history of agricultural and environmental stewardship.
Rainfall Simulator: The rainfall simulator demonstrates how different agricultural practices affect water infiltration, runoff, erosion and water holding capacity. You’ll be able to see the relationship and begin to understand these properties and their impact to your ground and surface waters.
Pasture Walk: Bring your boots and walk the pastures! See rotational grazing in practice: daily moves, fences, and water. Learn how managed rotational grazing is a regenerative agricultural practice which enhances, water quality, soil health, pollinator & wildlife habitat and carbon sequestration.
Dinner and Discussion: Enjoy a light dinner and meet area farmers. We will be inviting and recognizing many farmers doing great things in our area. Discussion will focus on the important role of policy makers, community leaders, and especially consumers in supporting conservation agriculture.
OPEN to all - anyone who drinks water and eats food is welcome!!
$5/person (children under 12 free)
Bring the family and a chair or blanket for dinner seating.
