Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council Inc. was established in 1972. Our mission is to act as a community resource that can work across county lines to address large-scale environmental issues in a manner that protects both the environment and economies of our 13 county service area. Golden Sands RC&D is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3, non-partisan entity created by the counties it serves and funded by public and private grants, donations and service fees.

Since 1972, we have partnered with countless volunteers, citizen groups, and local, state or federal agencies to complete projects that make a real difference on the ground. From clean water to abundant wildlife, to sustainable farming we make Central Wisconsin a better place to work and live.

Our service area includes 13 member counties in Central Wisconsin

Adams, Columbia, Green Lake, Juneau, Marathon, Marquette, Monroe, Outagamie, Portage, Taylor, Waupaca, Waushara, and Wood counties.

Nature does not recognize city limits or county lines. Addressing environmental issues means private and public entities must work together across these lines for the common good. Golden Sands RC&D was created to guide this essential collaboration. In the 13 counties we serve, we bring together people from governmental agencies, local businesses, conservation groups and county citizens to achieve the common goal of protecting Wisconsin’s natural resources while growing the economy; making central Wisconsin a better place to work and live.
