Clean Lakes Monitoring Network

Volunteer Training workshops are now being offered to
lake groups in Wood, Waushara and Portage Counties.

Free training available in:
-Citizen Lake Monitoring Network (CLMN) - Aquatic Invasive Species Monitoring
Who's watching your lake? Wisconsin's 15,000 lakes need your help in spotting new AIS infestations early. Simple, yet effective, monitoring protocols were developed by the CLMN program for eight different invasive species. Learn how to monitor for one, or for all eight!
-Citizen Lake Monitoring Network (CLMN)- Secchi Disk Monitoring
The single most important indicator of water quality is water clarity, measured with a simple tool called a secchi disk. Recent studies have determined that taking this one measurement is like "taking the pulse" of a lake. Learn how to participate in the CLMN-Secchi Disk Monitoring Program, and collect a critical data record for long-term planning.
-Clean Boats, Clean Waters Volunteer Watercraft Inspection
Why not prevent an AIS infestation in the first place? The most common method of spread of invasive species is when they "hitchhike" on boats and boating equipment. Learn 'Clean Boats' habits for preventing the spread of invasive species and, more importantly, learn how to teach those habits to fellow boaters.
